Mark Tuesday, March 22nd on your calendars, because Neighborhood Caucus Night is only two months away! Caucus Night happens once a year, and it's where Utah Democrats and independent voters gather to elect our grassroots leaders. It's one of the easiest ways to get involved, because all you have to do is show up!
This year at Caucus Night, we'll also vote for our Democratic presidential nominees in a presidential preference poll. This will take the place of a presidential primary election in 2016, so it's important for all those who want to cast a vote for their favorite Democratic candidate to attend caucus night in 2016. The list of Caucus Night locations is still being finalized, but you can find a preliminary list here.
To stay up to date on Caucus Night information, fill out the form here, and we'll send you emails to keep you posted as we get new information and locations.
For those in the Salt Lake area, the Hispanic Caucus, Stonewall Caucus, and LDS Dems have teamed up to host a delegate training for those interested in running at Caucus Night. The training will be on Saturday, January 23, 10am, at the Centro Cívico Méxicano. Find more details on Facebook.
Last November, we lost a dear friend, former Party Chair and Former Salt Lake County Commissioner Randy Horiuchi. Randy loved his family and the people with whom he served. He loved his community, and he loved politics. Above all, Randy was always willing to give a helping hand and was fiercely loyal to his friends. While he was an avid Democrat, he had as many Republican friends as Democrats.
